Have you ever noti­ced that Face­book ads contain very little text? Do you know why? In fact, Face­book pena­lizes adver­ti­sers who use too much!

This is quite a chal­lenge for adver­ti­sers. For seve­ral years, Face­book has pena­li­zed the perfor­mance of ads with more than 20% text in the image. So very little infor­ma­tion can appear on an image! It’s impor­tant to be vigi­lant about the amount of text and the main message presen­ted if you don’t want to waste your ad spend.

Recently, Face­book announ­ced that it would reduce the amount of text displayed above the image. Mainly for the mobile version, only three lines of text will appear before the “See More” option. Your main points should there­fore be placed at the begin­ning of the text, and above all, do not repeat in these three lines the infor­ma­tion already present in the image. Opti­mize by using BOTH text AND image to convey your full message.
